Printable desk plate FAQs

What is the difference between 2-up and 4-up desk plates?
Large 2-up prints two full-width plates per page with Literacy, Math, Early Learner, or Comprehensive references. Early Learner intentionally keeps only direction arrows and a simplified 0–10 number line. Compact 4-up prints four full-width name strips and keeps only a name, second line, or one group shape. Both are derived landscape layouts.
Can I print Chinese names today?
Not yet. The interface is available in Chinese, but current SVG and vector PDF names support Latin and Latin Extended letters, combining accents, and common punctuation. Use Blank write-in for other scripts.
How are shape groups assigned?
Choose 2–5 groups and the tool balances circle, square, triangle, rectangle, and oval by default. Membership is stored against each roster entry, so A–Z/Z–A sorting and pagination change only output order. You can adjust students individually or convert complete second-line / CSV group values.
Are Desk Plates and Name Tags the same tool?
No. Desk Plates has its own configuration, 2-up/4-up layout, output namespace, and tests. Name Tags is designed for tags and cubby labels.
Are student names saved?
No. The roster stays in current page memory and never enters the URL, browser storage, analytics, logs, or PDF metadata.
